This Just In: Travel Trends for 2019

Similar to 2018, Europe is still #trending. Below the Old Castle Stairs in Prague, is a quote that reads, “I will close my eyes and place my finger on the map.” Travelers should absolutely apply this quote when planning their 2019 travels. And if you’re looking for inspiration, Pinterest released their 2019 trends based on searches done on their platform. Is your next vacation based on finding quaint, hidden European villages or road tripping to places in the most simplified and eco-friendly way possible? If so, close your eyes, place your finger on the map and book your next vacation to one of these travel trends for 2019.

Hot Springs have Sprung in Iceland

If you’re craving a luxurious dip in a hot spring, between 98 to 104 degrees to be exact, Iceland might interest you. The Blue Lagoon is a manmade lagoon in Iceland, essentially making it one of the world’s most incredible pools. It offers the same relaxing amenities as any other day spa: the Blue Lagoon offers saunas, restaurants, lockers and unique services like silica mud masks! Not to get too scientific, but the geothermal water contains three active ingredients: silica, algae and minerals that create a white, milky color.

Out-of-the-Way Towns in Germany

Do you feel like skipping the beer gardens and walking into a fairytale during your next off-season or out-of-the-way vacation to Germany? Check out Cochem where every angle offers breathtaking views of emerald forests, medieval monuments along the Moselle River and the Reichsburg Castle that sits on a cliff overlooking the city. When pinot noir or riesling is calling your name, hopefully your finger will land on Ruedesheim am Rhein. This is a legendary, idyllic wine-making town that serves as a gateway to the Middle Rhine Valley… where vineyards and rich history are waiting to be discovered.

Waste Not, Jaunt Not

When the miles on your road trip no longer include a comma, it all seems worth it – especially if you’re aiming to achieve a zero-waste road trip! If your finger lands on a state a few hours away, why not stop and visit national parks or rest at various eco-friendly hotels along the way? To succeed at a zero-waste road trip, you’ll have to follow those specific guidelines when it comes to snacks, toiletries, food, compost, preparation and technology.

My Never Ending Nightmare

The Feeding

A dusty fan circulated across the room from one end to the other. It’s been a while since Augustus put it to use, so he couldn’t blame the junk for its inability to remember its single duty. Arkansas hasn’t had a summer night like this since he was a child. He lay in his damp […]

Pamela’s last will & testament

Pamela was 15. She was sitting at Ben Frank’s on the Strip, Clutching a letter she would never have the guts to lick, seal, send. She would thank God for the downheartedness years later. She saved herself from a bourgeois trial separation from him in her thirties. But for now, She is 15 and […]

I Was Lying in the Sun

I was lying in the sun, Near juniper shrubs and storybook villas. Not enough profit and pleasure in the telling of, The tapping of a cigarette, The brush of bare knees, A long draught of wine, Closing the shutters on balconies, With blinds made of lace at Angel’s Bay. Red watermelon hues. I’ve read […]
