About

GoldDust Magazine is an American online magazine created and founded by Madison Goldbeck in November 2018. The idea of GoldDust was conjured in 2014 and consistently dreamed about before coming to life. The magazine’s purpose is to offer an outlet for inspiring writers to submit their work to be published. GoldDust includes a variety of topics with an emphasis in short stories and poetry.

Madison Goldbeck, 26, is currently a full time Digital Content Producer at TMJ4 News, an NBC-affiliated television station located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Goldbeck graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in English, with an emphasis in creative writing.  She was previously a Digital News Producer at CBS 58 News, a News Reporter for News Graphic covering business, local government, and court cases. Her experience also includes a role as a Reporter Intern for BizTimes Media, a business magazine in Milwaukee, as well as working at WISN 12 News for two years as an Associate Producer.

In college, Goldbeck served as the editor in chief of her university’s newspaper The UWM Post and contributed for Media Milwaukee. She worked as a Freelance Writer for UK-based Taylor Magazine and New York City-based Superhero Magazine. Her work can also be seen in Elite Daily, an online news platform that receives over 70 million global views per month. She has been invited to the annual NEWSPA Journalism Conference the last four years to teach sessions and speak on a keynote panel.

With an eclectic mix of skills, Madison’s professional experience spans from creative writing to journalistic reporting skills. Her integrated training includes print, online, and broadcast news environments.

Special thanks and credit to Jeffrey Loomis for helping bring GoldDust Magazine to life! It would not have been possible without his generosity.

My Never Ending Nightmare

The Feeding

A dusty fan circulated across the room from one end to the other. It’s been a while since Augustus put it to use, so he couldn’t blame the junk for its inability to remember its single duty. Arkansas hasn’t had a summer night like this since he was a child. He lay in his damp […]

LIFE, and Death, and Giants

Life we wake into, Move about to, then die. So still, so cool. Till a Giant proclaims a color to wheat, Will we see beyond this red heat. Such as these are still.         In honor of Emily Dickinson’s birthday.

I Was Lying in the Sun

I was lying in the sun, Near juniper shrubs and storybook villas. Not enough profit and pleasure in the telling of, The tapping of a cigarette, The brush of bare knees, A long draught of wine, Closing the shutters on balconies, With blinds made of lace at Angel’s Bay. Red watermelon hues. I’ve read […]
