i’m here

i’m doing it

do you ever think

wow

i would have never

never

never

done this

but now

i’m here

i’m doing it

i’m growing

roots deeper

stronger

branches longer

closer to the sun

every day

do you ever

look in the mirror

at your naked body

& smile

& pose

& dance

do you ever

feel so whole

so full

you forget the feeling

of not feeling whole

or full

i hope you have

you do

i hope you find magic

i hope we all do

blame the puppeteer

You’re like every God I’ve prayed to And now I’m hoping you won’t be swayed If there is blame it is on the puppeteer And now I’m asking you won’t disappear Envy doesn’t look much like excellency And now I beg we guard this destiny Even the felony of jealously And where your errors may […]

I Was Lying in the Sun

I was lying in the sun, Near juniper shrubs and storybook villas. Not enough profit and pleasure in the telling of, The tapping of a cigarette, The brush of bare knees, A long draught of wine, Closing the shutters on balconies, With blinds made of lace at Angel’s Bay. Red watermelon hues. I’ve read […]
